1. Who we are

Etive Pipers is a youth piping group based in Oban offering group and private tuition for chanter and bagpipes. Our aim is to support musical growth, confidence, and community connection for young people aged 7–18.

2. Use of our services

By registering for lessons, using our website, or submitting any personal information, you agree to the following terms:

  • You are the parent or guardian of the child(ren) you are enrolling, or have their legal consent to do so.
  • You agree to follow the guidelines set out in our Members’ Handbook and Safeguarding Policy. These are made available to registered families through the Members Area or upon request.
  • You will ensure that your contact and emergency information is kept up to date.
  • You understand that your child’s participation may involve group rehearsals, performances, or recordings where consent has been given.
  • You agree not to misuse or copy materials from the Members Area or lesson resources without permission.

3. Payment & refunds

Group lesson fees are payable weekly or termly unless otherwise arranged. Private lesson fees are set individually and agreed in advance.

  • If you need to cancel a private lesson, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Short-notice cancellations may be charged.
  • Refunds for group classes are not typically issued unless Etive Pipers cancels a session.

4. Behaviour & safeguarding

All tutors, mentors, and participants are expected to follow our safeguarding and behaviour guidelines. These include:

  • Respecting others, listening to tutors and mentors, and being kind
  • Following instructions for group safety and session flow
  • Using instruments and equipment responsibly
  • Reporting concerns to a tutor or responsible adult

Etive Pipers reserves the right to pause or end a student’s participation if their behaviour causes disruption or poses a safety risk, after appropriate support and communication with parents/carers.

5. Website use

All website content (including resources in the Members Area) is the property of Etive Pipers and may not be copied, downloaded, or distributed without permission.

You agree not to use our website in any way that disrupts its functioning or accesses protected materials without authorisation.

6. Media consent & usage

Photo, video, or audio recordings may be used for lesson support, internal group sharing, or promotional materials — but only where explicit consent has been given. You may update or withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@etivepipers.com.

7. Data protection

We handle all personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to terms

Etive Pipers may occasionally update these Terms & Conditions. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued participation in lessons or use of the website implies acceptance of any changes.
