Request a chanter when you join classes, or contact me anytime.
Collect & pay
Pick up your chanter at class. Pay monthly by standing order or cash.
Return or buy
Keep it as long as you need. Return anytime, or purchase when ready.
Looking After Your Chanter
Do
- Store safely in its case when not in use
- Clean the mouthpiece regularly with warm soapy water
- Let me know if anything seems damaged or broken
Avoid
- Touching or adjusting the reed
- Leaving it somewhere it could get knocked or stepped on
- Extreme temperatures (don’t leave it in the car!)

Junior
Smaller finger spacing for younger or smaller hands.

Standard
The most common size. Recommended if fingers can reach comfortably.

Long
Pipe chanter-like hole spacing. For advanced players or adults.

My Recommendation
I recommend McCallum chanters for their great sound quality and reasonable price. You can find a good selection at the National Piping Centre Shop, or ask me for advice on what would suit you best.
